Here’s the story of how TOLD came to be

Alrighty, hold onto your hats folks because I’m about to spill the beans on how TOLD came to be! It all started a long time ago when I started homeschooling my kids while also working remotely. I thought I had hit the jackpot, but even though we were together all day, every day, I couldn’t give my kids the attention they deserved. So, I needed a solution that would allow me to support my family while living a quality lifestyle. And what’s the answer to that? Being your own boss, baby!

I talked to my husband about my concerns, and guess what he did? He went and created me a whole business! You’d think that would have been enough to get me to take the leap of faith, but nope, I was still too chicken. Then, just when I thought things couldn’t get any worse, the pandemic hit, and I lost my remote job after only three weeks. Great timing, right? But I managed to land another project with the same company, which I worked on for nine months before finding myself jobless again. And let me tell you, those other companies weren’t exactly falling over themselves to hire me either.

So, I said “screw it!” and decided to take matters into my own hands by returning to the idea of working for myself. I mean, I was tired of people telling me no, and I wanted to be the one saying no! And that’s how Tree of Life Designz was born, out of my husband’s old LLC. The name of my company reflects my own name, which means beautiful life, and the symbol of life, which is chai. And what better way to extend that gesture than through the branches of a tree – the tree of life.

Let me tell you, being my own boss is the best thing I ever did! I love the freedom to make my own hours and work around my daily needs and desires. And let’s not forget about those sweet business-to-business relations where my company can help other companies focus on what matters most to them – their companies. So, there you have it, folks – the hilarious story of how TOLD came to be.

Hey there, I’m Chai, the founder of Tree of Life Designz. We’re not just another company, we’re a family. My everyday life influences the ideas and products we create, because after all, my name means beautiful life and I believe every day should be beautiful.

I love taking risks and daring to dream, and I encourage creativity in my designs. And let’s be real, starting a business takes time and mental investment, but I never forget that as a small business owner. It keeps me humble and reminds me that every product with the word “product” on it is an investment in someone else’s dreams, company, and brand. And to me, that’s the greatest investment of all.
